NONA anime's history

NONA's been around for 5 years now.. man, I remember when I first came up with the idea..

This was my first attempt at a website, and sadly it was a failure. At the time however I thought my site was the greatest thing to hit the web. Yes I was that confident in my site, however it was not very popular. I ended up getting about 10 hits a day. (and about 5 in which being my own..)
They layout was..well too bright. All pinkish with flowers, and my banner, meh, I had NO image editing talent.
Well after homestead started closing down their free hosting, this site closed.

This site was my first to have the name NONA. I was getting better. This one atleast had the same background on each page, and all of information wasn't all stolen ^^; I actually started getting regular visitors and fans.
The pages were messy still, and it only worked on a 800x600 resolution and basicly on my computer. ^^;
Then we ran out of space and I realized that Tomoyo [my sister] was making pages in HTML, so I wanted to give it a try. So on April 1st 2002, NONA on geocites closed down and I started NONA in HTML.

I was struggling with HTML at first, so I took LELOLA [dot] net's layout, however, before you start shaking your fist at me, I DID get her permission first
This NONA was TERRIBLE! So hard to manage, and I was so worried about space and bandwidth that I made other sites to host all my images. Then all those pages were deleted and I had to upload them all to a new page, and go through all my HTML and change URLs. Adding animes wasn't a picnic either, I didn't have any clue about SSI so I had to go through all my pages one by one.
After getting fed up with my bandwidth, I actually started paying for this dump. 10$ a month, which got all the add banners off and got my bandwidth extended to 3GB.
I was quite proud of this site at the time.

Pan-Chan [LELOLA] had made me a fabulous new layout and even decided to put it up. So this was birth of a new version of NONA. Still basicly the same as the one before, but this time the layout was original. XDD

LONG PERIOD OF DOWNTIME.. moving to a domain..

Yippee! I finally got a domain! It took 2 full months to move it because I am so lazy, and I added 3 new animes. This is the best version [in my opinion] of NONA yet.
I've finally figured out SSI, thanks to BulbaGrrrl *smiles* So I no longer have to go through all my pages.
The layout is my own and I am very proud of it.
The best news of all is we're starting to get an actual amount of hits each day, NONA is getting regular visitors and even fans.
Hopefully NONA will continue to grow and attract more otakus each day.

I made this layout very quickly, I remember that. People were telling me to change the layout, so I just did.
It was still the original color, blueish-grey, but was made with DIV layers and featured a giant picture of Kamui from X/1999 as a header.

It wasn’t the best version of NONA, but it started me down the path of my more original layouts.

(I know i have a screencap of this layouts.. SOMEWHERE... errr.. so its temporarily preview less. ^^)

This layout I found a wee bit too pink for my liking, but I really liked the header. It featured Sakura from Card Captors Sakura and a ton of pink bar code brushes. The header was the best part of the layout.
It was super simple HTML, tables, but the one part that I found to be signature was the HV (drop down) menus. It made NONA haven it's own touch. So I decided to keep them in other layouts.

The reason I took this layout down was because my friends thought it was too simple for me, and after a little while of denying it, I realized they were right. ^^

After deciding to change from the 'lively motion' version I felt like doing something with Escaflowne. And the baby blue color was just a random thing.
I kept the DIV layer format and the HV menus.
I kept it up until after the CN Anime 2003, I remember that, and I remember taking it down because the Baby blue was just too annoying on my eyes, and I wanted there to be more than just one Anime on the header.

This has to be my favorite version of NONA yet.
The purple is a good color because it isn’t hard on the eyes.
I really love the header, and have had a lot of positive feed back on it. The idea of having squares of characters from each anime on NONA was probably the best header idea I've had for a layout yet. However, I still don’t know why I came up with the idea. And since the picture of Lime was going to be the original picture on the header, I decided to make it the centerpiece.
And like the other past layouts, I decided I would keep the DIV layer style along with the HV menus, because like I've said before, It's what makes NONA, NONA. =D

This layout also featured the lyrics to the song "True Faith" by New Order. I really fell in love with that song over the summer. This was the first layout for NONA that I used song lyrics on, and I think it turned out great. :D

What can I say? Tomoyo made it for NONA's 5th birthday and I thought it was very cute so I used it.
I didn't really like the fact it was so bright and pinky, but I used it anyway.

It was simple tables, with a very good look, so it was very easy to change around for the next layout. ^_^

It had a good run, I'd say.

In a half hearted attempt to keep NONA alive in a time where I really couldn't be responsible for her we made this layout in hopes of giving ourselves a boost but it did not work. Not to mention it did not work in Firefox or Safari browsers after moving to macs. Anyway, this layout was green and cheerful containing images from Digimon.

After a long (almost three year) hiatus, NONA is back with this clean layout.
