Card Captors Sakura is about a girl named Sakura Kinomoto. Her father, Fujitaka Kinomoto is an archeologist, and one day while he's working he finds a strange book with a seal on it. He tries to open it, but he can't so he puts it in the family's library downstairs. One day, Sakura wanders down into the library because she hears a strange sound coming from the back of one of the shelves. She finds the Clow Book, and it's glowing. This kind of freaks her out, but she picks it up anyway. She easily opens it and picks up the first card, which happens to be The Windy. The second she does so, the cards all fly out of the book, and scatter all over the town. After she thinks it's all over, Kero-Chan, who Sakura thinks is a flying teddy bear, floats out of the book. He blames Sakura that the cards got away, but Sakura points out that Kero-Chan just wasn't paying enough attention to the Cards. Later on Sakura meets Syaoran Li who tries to steal the Cards, but just decides to try and out-capture Sakura instead. After that she meets Meiling Li, who decides to try to replace Sakura and work with Syaoran. It doesn't work, of course, because Meiling has no magical powers, but she just tags along anyway
